Following in the footsteps of Logic X Pro, the makers of Ableton are offering free 90-day trials of the digital audio workstation. The trial also unlocks all of the program’s features, including exporting and saving. You can download the trial right here.
First released in 2001, Ableton Live has become a favorite tool of many professional producers and artists including Grimes, Flying Lotus, and others. A number of rappers have shouted out the program in their lyrics.
On the Odd Future cut, “Oldie,” Tyler, The Creator referenced a number of digital audio workstations including Ableton, Reason, and Logic by rapping:
I never had a Reason, n*gga, I was just Ableton
Not a f*cking Logic-contradicting d*ckhead (Not a Logic)
Chance the Rapper noted how easy the program is to use on The Social Experiment’s “Home Studio” when he rapped:
You is just an ankle weight, lighter than some angel cake
Sweeter than some maple syrup, easier than Ableton
In addition to Ableton, a number of companies are now offering free 90-day trials including the aforementioned Logic. Guitar manufacturer Fender is offering 90 days of free online guitar lessons. Artists and producers are also offering free content, like beat battles and concerts from their homes.
