Classic movie posters worth in excess of $300,000 (£250,000) are going up for auction.

400 rare and sought-after posters will be sold during Prop Store’s very first Cinema Poster Live Auction on Thursday, June 28, 2018, in London, UK.

Among the items that could fetch the highest prices once the virtual hammer falls are a UK quad poster for Goldfinger which is expected to sell for $5,419 - $8,126 (£4,000 - £6,000), there's UK quad poster artwork for Dracula A.D. 1972 that has a predicted price tag of $8,126 - $10,833 (£6,000 - £8,000) and a Star Wars US Teaser "B" 7-sheet poster that is expected to change hands for $13,541 - $20,309 (£10,000 - £15,000). There are also a number of other Star Wars posters for sale as part of the event.

“After four successful Entertainment Memorabilia live auctions, we’re always looking for exciting new things to bring to collectors and our Cinema Poster Live Auction feels very much connected to our roots,” explained Stephen Lane, Prop Store CEO. "We live and breathe movies so original poster art is as much a part of that as props and other memorabilia. In short, we’re thrilled to be working in this new market, and hope it will become a regular event.”

Among the other spotlight items up for grabs are The Lost Boys book cover artwork that has an estimate of $2,709 - $4,064 (£2,000 - £3,000), a UK quad poster for The Dam Busters that will likely sell for $8,126 - $10,833 (£6,000 - £8,000) and a UK quad poster for The Rocky Horror Picture Show which is expected to go for $2,030 - $3,384 (£1,500 - £2,500).

There are a number of lots available for fans on a more limited budget including a Carry On Doctor UK quad poster and a UK quad poster from The Man Who Fell To Earth. They are expected to sell for between $271 and $406 respectively.

The auction will be live-streamed online for fans to track the bidding on auction day. Registration and online proxy bids are now open on the Prop Store website. A free preview exhibition, which will showcase over 185 lots from the upcoming auction, will be open to the public from June 22, 2018, until June 28, 2018, on the first floor at the ODEON BFI IMAX at Waterloo.
