Police asking for help locating Troy University computer burglars

Troy University police are asking for help identifying a man who broke into a building on campus and stole several thousand dollars' worth of computers and equipment last year.

The unknown man broke into the computer lab in Malone Hall on the main campus of Troy University between the hours of 2:34 a.m. and 3:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014, Central Alabama Crime Stoppers released on behalf of police.

All of the computers in the lab were taken in the burglary.

An image of the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras, but police believe he had help from others.

The suspect made several trips up and down stairs carrying bags containing computer equipment.

Investigators believe the suspect was taking the stolen equipment to a possible 2007-08 four-door, gold or tan Jeep Cherokee that was caught on video circling the area.

The suspect is described as having a medium build and standing approximately 6-foot 1 inch tall. He possibly has deadlocks.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police immediately or Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP.
