Another earthquake struck in the same area with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5. Shortly after, another quake was reported with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3.

MONO COUNTY, Calif. (KTXL) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 struck Mono County Thursday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was Walker, about 40 miles from South Lake Tahoe.

A 3.0 magnitude aftershock was reported about seven minutes later.
