Slaves' guitarist Laurie Vincent reveals his girlfriend Emma Jane Mulholland has died aged 32 after cancer battle as he pens touching tribute to his 'queen'

Slaves guitarist Laurie Vincent revealed on Wednesday that his girlfriend Emma Jane Mulholland has died aged 32, after a battle with cancer.

The musician, 26, took to Instagram to pen an emotional tribute to his other half following her tragic death earlier this week, as he gushed that she 'showed me what love means.'

Laurie and Emma shared son Bart, three, and daughter Summer, 12 months, and he wrote on social media: 'My Dolly Legs, you showed me what love means. I will love you forever. Sleep tight my queen, we will meet again.

On her daughter Summer's birthday earlier this month, Emma shared a snap with her little one and penned an emotional message. 

She wrote: 'Happy 1st Birthday to our beautiful baby girl Summer Jane! So bittersweet that this is our first and last birthday spent together

'In the hardest year of our lives you will never understand the joy you have brought to get us through each day I love you with all my heart and always will, mummy.'

In December, Slaves cancelled their UK tour so that Laurie could focus on Emma's health, as she had surgery and then underwent chemotherapy for her illness.

Releasing a statement at the time, he informed fans: 'Emma has been battling through immensely painful episodes every day for the past 3 months.

'We hoped this wasn't a permanent issue and that her symptoms would subside, I thought we would be able to cope and I could get through this tour.

'However, this week her condition has rapidly deteriorated. At this point, Emma is in constant agony.'

Of the importance of being there for Emma, Laurie went on: 'I simply cannot leave my family at this time and do this tour. 

'Our amazing team are working on a new plan for 2020 right now, to reschedule the dates, to make it up to you all. Please hold onto those tickets and i promise to give you the shows of our lives next year, once my family is on the mend.'  

Punk Rock duo Slaves consists of Laurie and bandmate Isaac Holman, who formed the band in 2012 and have released three albums together.
