Bahrain: Bellevision Bahrain celebrates Easter; Inducts New Committee

Manama/Bahrain, 27 April 2014: The Baan Saeng Thai auditorium was all set for the induction of the new committee with special attraction of the event, which was the counter put up in support of building the new Cathedral at Awali, Bahrain.  The theme being “Together we build our Church”. This year is also very special to all of us here at Bahrain as Sacred Heart Church of Bahrain is celebrating the Diamond Jubilee year.

 

John D’souza, the compare for the event welcomed all members, guests and well wishers. Prayer was performed by Jovita D’sa with beautiful classical Kuchipudi dance. The newly formed committee for the year 2014 – 2015 was very vibrantly installed by Rony Norbert Pinto. The happiness was shared among the committee by cutting the beautiful cake.

 

Our enthusiastic President Mr. Joel D’sa in his presidential speech briefed about the Cathedral support project and expressed his joy about how Bellevision in Bahrain has been progressing for the past 3 years and proudly stepping into the fourth year. He thanked all the sponsors and well wishers for their continued support in helping BV Bahrain to reach greater heights. He thanked the outgoing Ex-com members of year 2013. Fr. Antony D’mello, the chief guest for the evening applauded the association’s efforts and wished good luck for the year and felicitated the preceding committee with momento. Secretary Sylvia D’souza proposed the vote of thanks.

The members and children actively took part in various entertainment programs like skits, songs, dances. The co-ordination for the dances were done by Alfreeda Castelino and choreographed by Ashel, Reeshal and Hazel. BV Bahrain took this opportunity to bid farewell to Reeshal Fernandes, daughter of Robert and Veera Fernandes, who will be leaving Bahrain and returning to India for her higher studies. It was indeed a moment of mixed feelings as said by MC John. Fr. Freddy blessed her and President Joel on behalf of BV Bahrain thanked her for all support for the past 3 years and wished her good future.

 

 

Under John’s guidance a dedicated team comprising Sylvi & Kishore, Rony & Princy and Ancilla Martis was working selflessly at the Cathedral counter. An unique opportunity to take photographs with Spiritual Director Fr. Freddy D’souza and Fr. Antony D’mello at the counter was made available for all members and families. The souvenirs, T-shirts, mugs were on sale and all the proceeds from the sale will go towards the Cathedral project.

Easter goodies were distributed to all children by Hilda D’sa. Scrumptious dinner was savored by all. DJ Daniel provided the music for the event. Photography coverage was done by Rony Fernandes and Ashton Castelino. The Bar Counter was managed by Vicent Martis and Walter Lobo’s team.

Bellevision Bahrain aims to give an opportunity to those who have hidden talents and encourage them to come forward. The talented members are always ready at all times to support and guide those who wish to make use of the platform provided.
