Bahrain Grand Prix tickets 'being sold at cut-rate prices'

MANAMA, April 8, 2015

Tickets for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix are being sold online at cut-price rates by people who snapped them up on early-bird discounts of 20 per cent, or received them on a complimentary basis from their companies.

They are available for as little as BD20 ($52) on the website www.expatriates.com, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The BD20 ticket was being sold for the Victory Grandstand, where it normally costs BD60 for spectators.

“I received the complimentary tickets for the Main Grandstand from my office and I am selling them for BD100,” one seller told the GDN.

The going rate for Main Grandstand tickets through official channels is BD150 each.

One person posted pictures of tickets and a parking pass sticker for sale, which he said he bought for a tourist who was no longer coming.

“I purchased two tickets during the discount period, which gives access to the Pitbull concert, but I don't want them now,” said another.

The Main Grandstand is the ideal location to enjoy all the action as it overlooks the start and finish line, with views of some of the most important parts of the track.

The University Grandstand is located opposite turns two and three offering views of the Michael Schumacher Corner and other turns at the circuit.

The Victory Grandstand overlooks the last section of the track. Tickets can be purchased through legitimate channels at BIC stands in City Centre Bahrain and Seef Mall. - TradeArabia News Service
