About 1,000 workers at a General Motors joint venture electric vehicle battery plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, will get big pay raises now that they have joined the United Auto Workers union.

Hill’s Ultium plant voted last week to unionize with United Auto Workers. The company, a joint venture from General Motors and LG Energy Solution, approved the union, making the second UAW success in Tennessee this year.
