Nine Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a police station in northern Gaza, health officials and first responders say. Several other people were also wounded when missiles hit the market area of Jabalia town.

An Israeli airstrike on Thursday hit a police station in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, killing no fewer than 10 people. Israel’s military said it had struck a command centre of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad groups.

Israeli strikes have killed at least 17 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, mostly women and children, and destroyed bulldozers and other heavy equipment that had been supplied by mediators to clear rubble.
