Verify Bingbot allows you to check whether or not an IP address belongs to Bingbot. This is useful to double check if traffic in your server logs with requests using a “Bingbot” or “MSNBOT” user agent string are in fact genuine Bingbot IP addresses and that the server making the requests is not simply hiding its true identity. The tool is available in 2 places: inside your Bing Webmaster Tools account under Diagnostics & Tools, and, if you don't have an account yet, as a public tool at http://www.bing.com/toolbox/verify-bingbot.
Using the Verify Bingbot tool
To use Verify Bingbot, enter the IP address you want to check into the input box. If you are not signed into Webmaster Tools, you will need to enter the characters you see in the picture into the text box below. If you are already signed into Bing Webmaster Tools, then this will not be necessary.
To get a verdict about the IP address, click Submit. Verify Bingbot will now tell you whether or not the IP address belongs to Bing or not.
