The Indiana Garden Club recently participated in Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s SEEDS event, which was held on the university campus. Pictured, from left, are front row, Margie Bucci and Kate King. Back from, from left, were John Kime, Barb Cerovich, Connie Spidel, Mary Margaret Conjelko and Jacquie Gentile. Karen Addleman and Rachel Sternfeld were not available for the photo.

Despite the weather, the Indiana Garden Club has enjoyed a very busy fall. The club’s meeting in September was held at a nearby farmhouse where the members enjoyed making stone planters from Styrofoam containers. Although it was a bit of a damp evening, everyone enjoyed making the planters and a delicious meal of pulled pork with all the trimmings provided by the refreshment committee. Look for the group’s planters at May Mart, which will be held in the spring.

The October meeting was highlighted with a program presented by member and Master Gardener Dianna Kerr. Kerr covered the latest invasive scourge, the spotted lanternfly and demonstrated the potential devastation this detrimental bug will be having on the native trees and fruit crops in Pennsylvania.
