NASCAR Champion’s Week in Nashville came to an end Thursday night with an award show at Music City Center.

The week started with musical performances, Burnouts on Broadway, and other fun events.

All of the biggest NASCAR drivers came out to recap the year, with Kyle Larson taking home the biggest trophy of the year and reflects on his most memorable moment of the year.

“For me, probably that first move we got in Las Vegas early this year was a special one. I mean they were all special in their own way so we were able to win a lot and celebrate a lot but each of them meant something different than the others,” says Larson.

Plus, the other champions were officially honored including Trucks Champion Ben Rhodes and Daniel Hemric, the Xfinity Series Champion.

Chase Elliott took home the “Most Popular Driver Award" for the second year in a row but missed out on celebrating his 2020 win.

“It’s definitely a little different, but it’s all good I mean we celebrate in our own way at home and had a lot of fun with that, so just the way the cards fell, keeps us hungry to want to do it again and kind of celebrate this way too so hopefully we can check that box one day,” says Elliott.

FOX 17 News caught up with some other drivers ahead of the ceremony on the red carpet.

“Not the year we quite wanted but was able to come away with Rookie of the Year which is a super cool accomplishment to be able to add that to the list of things,” says Chase Briscoe, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year.

The 2022 season will kick off in February in Los Angeles.
