Dom

After Louis Domingue got the call from his agent that he'd been traded to the Canucks, Charles Domingue got the call from his son to meet him in Montreal.

Domingue, who was acquired by the Canucks from the New Jersey Devils at the NHL Trade Deadline Monday, grew up in a suburb 30-minutes outside Montreal, where his dad still lives. Not wanting to take Tuesday's game day skate in red Devils equipment, Domingue asked his dad to bring him the old blue and white gear he wore with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the past two seasons.
When Domingue hit the ice alongside Thatcher Demko at the Bell Centre, he didn't look out of place at all.

The 27-year-old, who was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round, 138th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, smiled post-skate recalling what a wild 24 hours it has been. But he's here now and ready to make the most of his back-up role behind Demko, with Jacob Markstrom expected to miss time due to injury.

PREGAME | Domingue at Canadiens

There are plenty of storylines involving Domingue, who was teammates with J.T. Miller in Tampa Bay, shares an agent and is great friends with Antoine Roussel and was coached by Newell Brown in Arizona. Domingue also has history in Montreal as he made his first NHL start against Manny Malhotra and the Canadiens in Montreal on February 1st, 2015, backing the Coyotes to a 3-2 win.

Domingue will apparently have his Lightning mask replaced with a Canucks cage for Vancouver's game in Ottawa this Thursday, and with the Canucks playing back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday in Toronto and Columbus, he should be prepared for it to see some rubber real soon.
