COVID-19 Cases Doubled For North Shore People In Their 20s

People in their 20s have more confirmed COVID-19 cases than any other age group, North Shore health officials say.

SHOREWOOD, WI β€” Health officials in the North Shore say the number of COVID-19 cases for people in their 20s has doubled in the last month, from 33 on June 10 to 64 on July 9.

It's "a similar trend to that of the statewide increase in cases among younger people," health officials said.

According to COVID-19 statistics in the North Shore, people in their 20s make up 19 percent of all cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases β€” the largest case number by demographic.

North Shore data includes Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay.

Testing Data

Health officials say 7,395 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the North Shore as of Thursday.

Nearly 11.4 percent of the North Shore population has been tested.

North Shore In Phase C

Health Officials say the North Shore remains in Phase C of the COVID-19 health plan. Those guidelines mean:

Recommended limit of 50 people maximum for gatherings.

A 50 percent occupancy limit for retail establishments or 12 people per 1,000 square feet.

75 percent capacity for restaurants and bars.

50 percent capacity limit for salons, spas, gyms and fitness centers.

Continuation of safe business practices and physical distancing.
