Shopper reveals how she nabbed 13 doughnuts and two baguettes for just £2.59 from Greggs – here’s how YOU can
A SHOPPER revealed how she got a haul of Greggs doughnuts and other treats for a bargain price, thanks to a money saving app.
Too Good To Go connects hungry Brits with food chains and supermarkets with leftover food that would otherwise be thrown away.
As the food is sold at a discounted price, shoppers can make some sweet savings.
She posted her bargain finds in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook yesterday.
She wrote: "Ordered a Greggs magic bag through the Too Good For You app for £2.59.
"Pictured below is what I got which I think is amazing value. I have attached my invoice as well."
The bargains included seven treats such as doughnuts, sausage rolls and a baguette.
Her post has proved popular on Facebook, and has so far racked up around 1,500 likes and 1,300 comments.
One woman wrote: "We get these, they’re always full to the brim! Brilliant stuff!"
Another added: "I have had Greggs and Costa this week. Costa gave us two sausage baps, two tuna paninis, a slice of cake, toasted ham and cheese and toasted cheese and bean sandwiches all for £3.
"I have a Costa one booked today from a different store so will be interested to see what I get."
Too Good To Go first launched in Denmark in 2015, and has since expanded in the UK in recent years.
How does Too Good To Go work?
TOO Good To Go can be downloaded for free on Google Play or the App Store.
The idea is to fight food waste, so you're paying for food that is either close to its sell-by date, or that the retailer couldn't sell.
You don't get to choose what's in your food box, so each time it is a complete mystery in terms of the contents.
Shoppers can search for restaurants or supermarkets on a map system in the app, so you can work out what's near by.
Once you've found somewhere tasty, order your box and then pick it up later at the allotted time - but once they're gone they're gone.
