UC Davis Medical Center employee tests positive for COVID-19
A staff member at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento has tested positive for COVID-19, officials said.The employee has not been at work since March 13, but reported their test came back positive March 20, a spokesperson with the UC Davis Medical Center said. People who worked with the employee were informed so they can monitor for any symptoms, the center said in a release."While our UC Davis Health employees, faculty, trainees, and students work in clinical health care settings, they are also members of the community," the center said in a release. "We have been advising our team members for several weeks that, with the increasing community spread of this coronavirus, it would only be a matter of time until a team member would contract an infection through their connections to the community."UC Davis said the source of the infection is unknown. The center said it has a team investigating the employee's COVID-19 case.
