Art Institute to hold ceramics workshop

A Jungle in the Desert Ceramics Workshop is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lux Art Institute, 1578 S. El Camino Real. The workshop will be led by instructor Aeriel French, as part of a community art installation. Families are encouraged to attend. Participants can make animals, plants and flowers in clay. Chiachio & Giannone will incorporate the pieces into their own work as part of their residency at Lux. Pieces will be returned to the participants after the exhibition. The Umoja program’s seventh annual Soul Fusion fundraiser will be hosted by comedian Daran Howard, featuring music by Big with Donnie Troy and comedy by Gilbert Esquivel.
