Festive Season in Bahrain If you’re wondering what’s the word on the street in Bahrain, two of our favourite bloggers have their fingers on the pulse. This month they’re discussing the festive season in bahrain…

Ali Fareed Ali Fareed is a blogger with a passion for food, movies and local happenings around Bahrain (Ask Ali Fareed). 2014 is approaching its end. Seems like just yesterday that we sat down to put our resolutions for the new year. Now it’s time again to welcome the most festive season and prepare to send off the year with a bang! This little island has a lot to offer when it comes to celebrating the festive month of December. To kick things of, many prominent 5-star hotels across the country throw their own Christmas Tree lighting events, providing fun-filled activities for the entire family. Be sure to keep a look out as most would be lighting their trees on the first week of the month. For the little ones, they can enjoy ginger-bread making classes and other kidsoriented festive activities.

Georgina Jennsen Georgina Jennsen is the blogger behind the popular lifestyle blog, Blonde in Bahrain. Georgina loves all things beautiful and luxurious. The festive season in Bahrain gets bigger and brighter every year. The more malls and hotels that pop up, the more Christmas carols you hear, the more fake snow you see, and the more invitations to tree-lighting parties you get. Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day offer plenty of activities. Most of which, in true festive spirit, revolve around eating and drinking more than you thought was physically possible. My Christmas Day will be spent with close friends, at a girlfriend’s house. There’ll be bonbons with silly paper hats, stupid jokes and mini toys. There’ll be turkey with all the trimmings, and glasses overflowing with grape juice. My little dog Mai will beg for food at the table. And on my way home, I’ll drive past the trees with their magical red and white fairy lights, thankful that the lovely National Day decorations are left up long enough for me to pretend that they’re really there for Christmas.

Now it’s time again to welcome the most festive season and prepare to send off the year with a bang!”

Bahrain shines bright throughout the month and on till early 2015 in white and red as it sets to celebrate its National Day on Dec 16. Look for the brightly decorated trees across the country, namely the famous Awali trees and Crown Prince Royal Court in Riffa. Outdoor shopping festivals, and fireworks. As for me, I look forward to spending my time around family & friends enjoying all the island has to offer. I wish you the same and Happy Holidays! fact magazine
