The 'Around the World Taste Buds Tour' benefits Abilities Without Boundaries and a local tennis club, which are both based in Cheshire.

CHESHIRE, CT — (Contributed article): Abilities Without Boundaries (AWB) and Copper Valley Club (CVC), both based in Cheshire, are offering a wine and beer tasting event at Cheshire Parks and Recreation to help support their organizations. The event will take place the day after Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Cheshire Parks & Recreation, located at 559 South Main St. More than 30 wines from around the world, a selection of exotic craft beers and a wintery Finnish Long Drink will be available for sampling at the evening social. Cheshire Wine & Spirits is providing the selection.

Light fare, cheese, crackers, etc. and background music enhance the evening. People are also welcome to bring their own food. Cost is $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased with any major credit card by calling AWB 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, at 203-272-5607. Tickets are also available at Cheshire Wine & Spirits, 581 Highland Ave., Cheshire. Walk-ins are welcome.

“One of the challenges for any community organization is awareness,” Abilities Without Boundaries Executive Director Julie Rodriguez said. “Even though we are one of Cheshire’s largest charities, we still work to be better known in Cheshire and the dozen surrounding towns we serve. When Copper Valley tennis club approached us about a wine and beer tasting we thought it would be a fun way to raise awareness and generate some charitable donations too.”
