April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), about one in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder(ASD). On Social media, parents, friends and relatives of children suffering from the disorder, posted messages in support.

Meme Howard: “...for josh, wear blue in support of autism.”

Chala Halacoglu: “I care, posted for a friend.

Until you have walked in our shoes and have felt the pain we feel, keep your cruel comments and opinions to yourself. Ignorant people can be so cruel! I’m posting to stop people from mocking and laughing at people for things beyond their control... I have two of these illnesses as do some of my friends.... Hard to explain to someone who has no clue. It’s a daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside while you look fine on the outside... Never judge.”

Lindsay Hale: “I Hope to see lots join in that and share this on Saturday... as this is very close to my heart!”

Margarett Christian: “This is why I am so proud of my son. When he can over come so much and help others.”

NoaHannah Pelley: “April 2 is world autism day.like I said before one color to represent autism would be boring and understated since autism is a spectrum disorder,is full of autistics who are bright, colorful, exciting and lovable people who only want Acceptence,Inclusion, appreciation, action, awareness and love.”

Sonya Jigsaw-Project: “Tomorrow is the start of Autism Awareness month , for those with a child / adult on the spectrum it doesnt begin or end in April, it is every day of every month ..Be Autism aware Always!”

Katherine Clothier: “I love a boy with Autism, he is not labeled, he is special, unique, wired differently and this makes him amazing! We do not hide from him or the world that he is autistic, we embrace all that makes him unique and beautiful! I see the world through a different lens thanks to my boy and I’m a better person for it!”

Iklyla Hamyd: “It’s not a Sickness or a Disease. They are just a little Extra Ordinary #Autism”

Maria Tribe: “Tomorrow is the beginning of autism awareness month. Katie was diagnosed at age 3.5 and is now 16 . Autism, like many disorders, is not visible and does not require wheel chairs or crutches. Autism affects your cognitive , social and sensory capabilities among other things and is different for everyone. As many of you know last year was a very emotional and raw time for us and we are still recovering the emotional epercussions of being excluded. However Katie has been raised as a strong girl and is yet to show the world all her super powers.

This month I ask everyone to please be aware the next time you encounter someone different and give them a smile or say hello. Please be kind ... Let’s be more aware.”ߒ?ߒ?ߒ?ߒ?
