Los Angeles designer Jenni Kayne first became synonymous with California chic in 2006 when her D’Orsay flats could be seen on celebrities and editors everywhere (mind you, this was before the advent of Instagram). Since then, the line has expanded to include home décor, and now, actual houses. Her first Jenni Kayne Home is an airy three-story cabin in California’s Lake Arrowhead and was recently listed for $2,195,000. “I truly believe in living well and to me that touches everything from your daily uniform, to how you’re entertaining and cooking, and to what your home looks like,” Kayne says. She plans to add more houses over the next few years—and maybe even, she hints, a hotel. Click through the slideshow to tour the home with T&C and Jenni Kayne.

"Lake Arrowhead made perfect sense for the first Jenni Kayne Home because it’s relaxing and brings together so many natural elements. It’s also close to our home base of Los Angeles. When we found the house, I could immediately see how we could transform the dark, dated house into a light, lake home with views from every room," says Kayne.

The Master Bedroom

"The master bedroom is one of my favorite rooms in the house. It was one of the biggest. The beautiful Wythe Bed from Maiden Home is really the centerpiece of the bedroom. There’s also a fireplace, which I love! We partnered with California Closets to create a dream walk-in closet. The bedroom opens up to a mudroom, which has a direct path down the lake. It’s so tranquil, you really feel like you’re immersed in nature," says Kayne.

"When we launched the home collection in 2017, we remodeled a vintage Airstream and toured it across the country as a traveling pop-up shop. Since then we’ve been dreaming of renovating a house that embodies our clean, natural aesthetic and brings the Jenni Kayne brand to life," Kayne says.

"I’ve always had a very clean and natural sense of style, which I think has really translated as we’ve developed new product categories and built a holistic lifestyle business. I’m constantly inspired by travel, nature, and our customers," Kayne says.

"We wanted to create a place to recharge. I believe in living well and to me that touches everything from your daily uniform, to how you’re entertaining and cooking, and to what your home looks like," says Kayne. "Armadillo & Co and Uprise Art worked with us on all of the beautiful rugs and artwork throughout the house. And of course, we filled it with Jenni Kayne furniture and décor."

"There are so many different projects on the horizon that we’re excited about. We’d love to do more in the hospitality space, whether that’s partnering with some of our favorite boutique hotels or creating spaces and retreats of our own," Kayne says.
