Alabama football: Allen, who leads Tide in tackles for loss, finally living up to his potential

Alabama vs. Missouri

Alabama linebacker Christopher Allen (4) stops Missouri quarterback Drew Lock (3) in first half action at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018.

TUSCALOOSA — Alabama entered 2020 with the return of an All-SEC inside linebacker from 2018 and a freshman who started all of 2019 in his place. It also returned a trio of defensive linemen responsible for 12 tackles for a loss among them — Christian Barmore, DJ Dale and Justin Eboigbe.

Yet, now eight games into its 2020 season, none of them are leading the team in tackles for a loss. That honor belongs to outside linebacker Christopher Allen.
