He’s best known for putting quizzers through their paces on The Chase, but we’re about to see Mark Labett’s softer side when he appears on Celebs Go Dating.

The ITV star, known as The Beast, is said to have signed up for the E4 dating programme, which matches famous faces with ordinary members of the public.

The Celebrity Dating Agency’s dating coaches Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson will help match Mark up with someone suitable following his marriage breakdown to wife Katie.

Mark, 55, split from his wife Katie, who is 27 years his junior and the mother of his three-year-old son, earlier this year.

The insider told The Sun : “Mark has been very open about the fact he’s not especially romantic

“Flirting doesn’t come easily to him but he’s open to finding love again.

“He’s a big lovable giant with a heart of gold but his dating adventures will be something to behold.”

Mark met Katie on Facebook in 2010 and they became an item two years later.

They got engaged the following year and tied the knot at Arundel Cathedral in 2014.

The pair previously revealed that after getting together, they found out that they were second cousins.

Speaking about their split, Mark said: “It’s got to the point now where I realise it is better for us to go our separate ways and remain friendly.”

Labbett's agent David Hahn said in a statement: "We can confirm Mark and Katie have split but will not be making any further comment. "
