After break-and-enters sharply increased in Surrey over the past few months, local police have been making a series of arrests.

Today (November 1), Surrey RCMP announced the arrest of a suspect linked to Cloverdale crimes and they are also seeking the public’s help in identifying another suspect who is believed to be connected to break-and-enters in Surrey.

An investigation into several property crimes in Cloverdale led to the arrest of 26-year-old Christian Gauvreau-May of Surrey.

Investigators believe he is connected to a series of 11 incidents in Cloverdale, ranging from vehicle thefts to the use of stolen property to commit other offences, which have been reported since September 25.

Gauvreau-May is facing 33 charges including theft, motor-vehicle theft, possessing stolen property, possessing break-in instruments, trespassing at night, possessing and using credit cards and ID not in his name, obstructing a police officer, and failure to comply with undertakings and probation orders.

Other recent arrests related to break-and-enters in Surrey and New Westminster include Michael Reeves and Bradley Richards of Surrey; David Lawson and his associate Tessa-Lee Wahpooseywan; and Dale Rimmer of New Westminster.

Meanwhile, Surrey RCMP are also seeking to identify a suspect in a break-and-enter in the Whalley–City Centre area.

Around 6:20 a.m. on October 15, Surrey RCMP responded to a report about a break-and-enter at a business in the 9400 block of 120^th Street.

The suspect involved in this incident is believed to be connected to several other break-and-enters that took place in Surrey.

He is described as being about 35 to 45 years old with an athletic build, weighs about 60 to 70 kilograms (130 to 160 pounds), and was wearing a black hoodie at the time. Surrey RCMP issued the above photo of the suspect.
