We hate to bum you out on a Friday, but the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's suicide is approaching so it's time to talk about sad things.
In an effort to circumvent the inevitable questions from the media and conspiracy theorists that tend to pop up in times like these, Seattle police have reviewed the case files of Cobain's death investigation. Although no new information was gained, they did discover four rolls of undeveloped photos from the scene.
The images released are not for the faint of heart, and paint a grim picture of Cobain's final hours. They show a box of drug paraphernalia, and Cobain's personal belongings strewn across the floor. Thankfully, the police had the good taste to not release an image of Cobain's actual body.
For years, legions of fans have been unwilling to accept the way Cobain died. Theories about what could have happened have been swirling in the darkest corners of the Internet for as long as we can remember. Hopefully this new information will put any claims of murder or foul play to rest, and we can remember the Nirvana front man for how he lived, not how he died. (People)
