Ida Arlene (Burgess) Farnham

With much sadness, we announced the passing of Ida Arlene (Burgess) Farnham, who is a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She left this world peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 8 following a brief illness. Arlene 76, of 7397 Mill St. Stockton and formally Bemus Point was born in Dunkirk, N.Y. on March 28, 1943, the daughter of the late Wilson and Viola Burgess. Arlene attended school at Mayville Highschool.

She was employed at the former Klings factory and became a stay-at-home mother once there four children where born. She was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan and loved to go fishing and hunting with her family. She was a whiz at a good word search and an outstanding card player. She loved cooking and baking for her family. She would go to her grandkids sports games and she loved a good auction.

Surviving is her husband of 56 years William J. Farnham whom she married April 28, 1963. They were married in York, S.C. and had four children James (Autumn) Farnham, Theodore (Mary) Farnham, Kathy (Todd) Brisky all of Bemus Point and the late Ricky Farnham. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Jessica Sinatra of Massachusetts, Alex Sinatra of Buffalo, Micheal Peterson of Jamestown, Jordan Farnham of Buffalo, Andrew Farnham of Long Island, Riley Farnham of Bemus Point, Justin Brisky of Stockton, Nicholas and Adam Brisky of Bemus Point and one great-grandson Aaidyn Rounds of Bemus Point.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, son and her sister Janice Swanson.

There will be a celebration of life on Jan. 18 at Maple Springs Fire station from 2-5 p.m. Memorials may be made too Maple Springs Fire Department 5385 Maple Springs Ellery Road, Bemus Point, NY 14712, Bemus Point Fire Department, 13 Alburtus Ave., Bemus Point, NY 14712, and the ASPCA 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown NY 14701.
