USA Under 19s fight with Bahrain side after ball kicked into player's head sparks chaos

A brawl broke out at the end of the USA Under 19s' 3-1 defeat by Bahrain which saw them exit the COTIF Tournament in Spain on Monday. 

The incident happened after USA striker Pierre Da Silva was felled by one Bahrain player and had another kick the ball hard into his head as he lay prone on the turf. 


Da Silva's team-mates quickly snapped in their reaction and ran after the Bahrain player who had hit the shot, eventually shoving him to the ground as well, leading to chaos from both benches.

Squad members on both sides soon descended into a fracas with disciplinary action expected to be dealt out by tournament organisers in due course.

USA are out of the COTIF Tournament after failing to progress from the group-stage. 

The Americans had taken the lead against Bahrain through Kevin Lankford, but a Abdulaziz Khalid hat-trick in the second-half saw that overturned.   

USA beat Spain and Mauritania 1-0 but lost 2-0 to Venezuela in their other group matches.
