The company, which operates a subsidiary location south of Dayton, is one of the world's largest weapons manufacturers and military technology providers.

A multinational aerospace and defense company has garnered millions of dollars in new work that will benefit its subsidiary's local facility.

The Military Aircraft Systems division of Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., a Northrop Grumman subsidiary based in Melbourne, Florida, was awarded a $19.7 million cost reimbursable modification to a previously awarded contract. This modification adds scope to provide non-recurring engineering risk reduction efforts to support the delivery schedule of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft FAA1-FAA3 for the government of France.

Northrop Grumman's subsidiary, Xetron Corp., was awarded 9% of this work at its West Chester Township facility. Work will also be performed in Melbourne, Florida (43%); Syracuse, New York (15%); Dallas, Texas (12%); Orlando, Florida (11%); and various locations within the continental U.S. (10%).

The contract is expected to be complete by January 2022. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland is the contracting activity.

The deal is significant because it will bring new work to Northrop Grumman's West Chester facility, potentially leading to additional hires and overall growth for the company's local operation. It also shows that Northrop Grumman places value on the West Chester facility, which is important when it comes to future opportunities for the local operation.

Northrop Grumman provides systems, products and solutions in autonomous systems, cyber, space, strike, and logistics and modernization to customers worldwide. With 90,000 employees and annual revenue that exceeds $30 billion, it is one of the world's largest weapons manufacturers and military technology providers.
