Missing Man With Schizophrenia Is Found

The 51-year-old, who is known to frequent the Malibu area, was found five days after LASD announced he was missing.

MALIBU, CA — Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday that a missing 51-year-old man with schizophrenia was found.

LASD Detectives announced Aug. 8 that Howard Leo Shaw, who is known to frequent the Malibu area, was missing. He had last been heard from via telephone on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 7 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, with a shaved head and blue eyes.

Family members had not heard from him since May and were concerned for his well-being.
