Man arrested in deadly shooting near east Columbus bar

On December 3, 34-year-old Shawn Mapp Jr. was arrested and charged with murder.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police have arrested the suspect in a shooting that killed a man and injured a woman in October near an east Columbus bar.

On October 19, officers were dispatched to Donerick's Pub for a report of a shooting in the 6900 block of East Broad Street, just west of Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, around 7:50 p.m.

On December 3, 34-year-old Shawn Mapp Jr. was arrested and charged with murder.

25-year-old Adrian Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition where she underwent surgery.

Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

This is the 130th homicide of 2020 in the city of Columbus.
