Coronation Street 's female stars are reportedly being targeted by a stalker with a foot fetish who begs them to send him pictures of their feet and toenail clippings.

The online pervert is also said to have asked the stars if he can buy their used socks for a surprisingly large amount of money.

Stars including Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor), Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) and Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) are among those said to be receiving daily messages from the man desperate to get his hands on snaps of their feet.

An insider told the Daily Star : "The male stalker has an extreme foot fetish and has been harassing a number of the cast for months.

"It's vile. The cast were pretty weirded out by the whole thing at first, but now they are just trying to laugh it off.

"They all find it disgusting that anyone would want their toenails. He even asked if he could purchase Sally Ann's old unwashed socks from her. And he was willing to pay good money too. It's utterly barmy."

Sally Ann, who returned to the soap three years ago following stints in the 80s and 90s, said: "If I had a pound for every time this guy has asked to lick my feet. It's mad."

The messages are reportedly sent to the stars through Twitter and Instagram, but have also been received in letters sent to them at the Manchester-based studios where the soap is filmed.

ITV did not want to give any comment when contacted by Mirror Online.

Meanwhile, Sally Ann's character has been the new landlady of the ITV show's famous pub, The Rovers Return.

Husband Johnny Connor decided to put an offer in on the pub after Henry Newton's plan to buy it for love interest Gemma Winter failed thanks to his wealthy parents cutting him off.
