A poetry session Mehfil e Mushaira was held recently at the premises of Global Institute for Management. The session was a part of Bahrain national Day celebrations among Bahrainis and expatriates enjoying homely feelings in The kingdom.
The session was patronised by Embassy of Pakistan and chaired by Maqsood Qadir Shah (Community welfare officer).
Well known poets from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and Pakistan participated in the event. The event was witnessed by more than 250 Urdu loving Indians and Pakistanis all across the kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
Bapco celebrates Bahrain's National Day in Awali
The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has participated in the celebrations marking the National Day. A festive celebration was held by Bapco at its winter camp in Awali. The ceremony was attended by Bapco's acting chief executive and chairman of environment, health and safety EHS committee Ebrahim Abdullah Talib and some senior officials of the company. Employees of Bapco and contractors along with their family members attended the celebrations.
ASRY named 'Shipyard Of The Year'
Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) has won the shipyard of the year award at the recent Lloyds List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent (MEIS) Awards 2015, one of the region's leading honours in the shipping industry.
The award recognises a shipyard in the Middle East or Indian subcontinent region that has consistently met the needs of its customers in these times of tight capacity. The judging committee said ASRY had shown a commitment to, and demonstrated, growth in the continued challenges in the region, securing contracts from some of the region's leading shipowners.
While speaking on the ocassion, ASRY chief executive Nils Kristian Berge said: "It's very gratifying to see organisations such as Lloyds List, which are highly regarded and independent bodies, recognising ASRY's tireless efforts to maintain our position as the region's preferred shipyard.
