A Bahrain court on Tuesday sentenced four people to life in prison and six others to up to 15 years in prison for attacking police in a protest in a Shia village in Bahrain, AFP reported.
The 10 sentenced were found guilty of plotting "terrorist" attacks, detonating explosives, and resisting police, Bahrain's public prosecution said in a statement.
"Four were sentenced to life in prison, while the remaining defendants were jailed between three to 15 years," the statement said.
The defendents were charged with detonating a bomb when police passed on patrol through the village of Akr in April 2014, resulting in damange to three police vehicles.
Despite an ongoing crackdown since the 2011 Shia-led uprising, protesters frequently attack police in demonstrations outside Manama.
