The PGA Tour will have a rare one-off event this week with the 2021 Palmetto Championship. The tour was originally scheduled to travel to Toronto for the RBC Canadian Open, but restrictions related to crossing the U.S.-Canada border led to the tournament's cancellation in March. In its place, the PGA Tour will travel to South Carolina where Congaree Golf Club will host the Palmetto Championship 2021, which tees off on Thursday.

One major surprise the model is calling for at the Palmetto Championship 2021: Koepka, who is coming off a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship and is one of the Vegas co-favorites, comes up short and doesn't win. The four-time major winner has missed the cut in two out of his last three events since having knee surgery in March.
Koepka has missed five cuts this PGA Tour season, which already ties a career-high for him. Much of those struggles can be pointed to his work off the tee as Koepka's driving accuracy percentage (55.11) ranks 169th on tour. That hole in his game will become glaring at Congaree Golf Club whose holes are routed between hundreds of large oak trees. There are also many natural hazards that line the course so accuracy will be paramount to success, and Koepka lacks that.
Another surprise: Brandt Snedeker, a 40-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. It's been nearly three years since Snedeker's last PGA Tour win, but he's coming off his best stretch of golf in years. He's finished 17th or better in four of his last six tournaments and has just one round over par during that run.
Snedeker, a native of Nashville, Tenn., has also played his best golf on Southeastern courses. He has three wins in the Carolinas and five of his 10 PGA victories have come in the Southeast region.
Now at 40 years old, Snedeker's strength is his work on the greens, where he ranks among the top 20 in overall putting average (1.570) and putts per round (28.27). Congaree Golf Club plays firm and fast on the greens so someone with a steady putter will be invaluable.
