With Glastonbury Festival sadly cancelled this year along with numerous other UK festivals, it's hard to imagine how we'll be spending most of our summer. But today, we've finally got some good news to share. Thanks to craft beer discovery club, Beer52, the world's first online beer festival is coming to the UK and we're pretty pumped.

Described as "an event to be enjoyed from the comfort of your home in these unprecedented times", it will take place on Friday 17 April 2020, between 6-10pm. Prior to the event, ticket holders will receive a case of 12 delicious craft beers. Beer52’s in-house magazine editor Ferment, Richard Croasdale, will conduct virtual, back-to-back tastings as well as Q&A sessions with the brewers behind each beer in the box.

How will it work?

It's simple really. Head to Beer52's website and buy a ticket before 12 April. Once purchased, they'll then ship out a case of 12 craft beers, alongside a Beer List and schedule to follow during the festival and details on how to access the live stream. On the day of the festival you tune in to the live stream, sit back, drink beer and relax.

On top of being the world's first online beer festival, these guys are also helping local breweries during these tough times. With pubs and restaurants being forced to close and beer festivals being cancelled, many breweries are struggling as they have little orders to complete. Cyber Fest is giving a range of breweries the chance to earn money talking about what they love! Some of the breweries taking part include world-famous Mikkel Borg-Bjergsø of Danish brewery Mikkeller, as well as Northern Monk, Boundary, Salt, Gipsy Hill, Tiny Rebel, Buxton x Verdant, Dark Revolution and Wild Beer.

Founder of Beer52, James Brown said: “I’m really excited to be putting on the world’s first online beer festival. Whilst people are staying home, there is a great need right now for them to come together virtually & we want to help make that happen – over a lovely beer from some of the best breweries on the planet. In addition, I’m delighted that by launching Cyber Fest, Beer52 is able to help support these incredible independent breweries at such a challenging time.”
