The fitted bedroom experts at online-bedrooms.co.uk are sharing their favourite cost-effective ways to recreate the LA pads featured on the hit Netflix show.

Here’s how to create a home so swanky that even the glamorous Christine Quinn would be green with envy….

Neutral decor

A mix of pale woods, off-white and warm grey-beige tones create the look of some of the most high end homes in the states.

Those with smaller budgets should opt for a fresh lick of paint around their home, and maybe look to create some of their own minimalist art in complementary tones.

More on Selling Sunset

Take a wide paint brush loaded up with your colour and swipe across a large white canvas a few times for some ultra-minimalist luxury.

Anyone with a slightly larger budget should look into pale wood floor options.

On top of this new floor, white or cream rugs in a wool, jute or bobble texture create a warm yet modern feel, without breaking the bank.

Bedroom seating

The homes of the ultra-famous apparently require seating options in all rooms, including the bedroom.

A good sit down must be required after walking through all of those vast rooms.

Selling Sunset-style bedrooms have established the trend of having two minimal, textured chairs at the end of the bed with a small podium side table between them.

If you have the space, this luxe seating can help your bedroom achieve those LA vibes, however those with less space or looking for a cheaper option should go for a linen or pale textured ottoman at the end of the bed.

Fancy foyers

Those watching their screens closely will have noticed large entrances and inviting foyers as a key selling point in many of the million dollar homes.

Mimic this at home through introducing a few items, including an entry table, a large table lamp, a glass vase or concrete plant pot with some greenery inside.

Items such as plants and vases may even be found in other areas of your house and moved into the hallway to bring them more purpose and give them the spotlight they deserve.

Many mirrors

A cost effective way to trick the eye is by installing large mirrors in your home.

Try not to be tempted by shorter, narrow mirrors, as these can shrink a space.

Instead, opt for floor to ceiling mirrors which give the illusion of high ceilings and reflect back the room, making it appear just as big as the huge rooms on the show.

Dining rooms are a particularly popular space to decorate with mirrors in LA style pads.

Posh patios

Homeowners looking to upgrade their outdoor space should look no further than the homes or the wealthy for their inspiration.

The luxury associated with patios of LA-style homes starts with the doors.

Often floor to ceiling and always oversized, these doors make a huge impact and make full use of indoor-outdoor living.

A quicker and more cost effective way to upgrade your outdoor space is with furniture. Create a luxurious feel with plenty of outdoor seating for entertaining.

A small fire pit or central table will bring the space together and encourage outdoor dining and drinking.

Why not plan an outdoor dinner party with friends and family to show off your beautiful home upgrades?

Wonderful wardrobes

The homes of the wealthy must, of course, provide ample space for all of their clothes, accessories and shoes.

Many of the homes gracing our screens show opulent walk in wardrobes, with walls filled with beautiful yet practical shelving, rails and drawers.

Re-create this in your own home through beautiful bespoke fitted wardrobes.

These can really add luxury to a room, fit in with your interior and blend seamlessly with whatever space you are working with.

For the full Selling Sunset effect, go for large pale wood doors with plenty of hidden storage, and obviously shelves to show off that shoe collection.

Nic Shacklock from online-bedrooms.co.uk said: “The hit LA-based show captivated thousands of viewers with shots of sprawling mountain-based mansions, leaving many to wonder if they can recreate similar feelings in their own homes.

“We are keen to show people that with just a few interior upgrades, they too can feel like they are living the life of luxury whilst relaxing on their sofa and soaking up the drama.”
