Margaret Ann "Marge" Praska

Margaret Ann "Marge" Praska, age 74 of Pisek, North Dakota passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at her home in Pisek.

Margaret Ann Lovcik was born March 11, 1945 in Pisek, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Ludvig and Lillian (Janousek) Lovcik. She graduated from Pisek High School and attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. She moved to Denver, Colorado for a short period of time before returning to Pisek. Marge was united in marriage to Daniel Joseph Praska on April 11, 1970 in Pisek, ND. The family made their home in Pisek where they raised their four children. She worked at the Pisek Post Office until becoming the Post Master. She retired as Post Master in 2008 and continued working at the post office until 2018. Daniel passed away on April 29, 2008. Marge continued to make her home in Pisek until the time of her death.

She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Pisek Legion Auxiliary, the First Care Hospital Auxiliary, the Homemakers Club and the Birthday Club. She loved her family, always putting them first; she was caring and compassionate and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She liked walking, mowing the lawn, dancing, playing cards, baking and going to the casino.

Marge is survived by her children: Lynette (John) Kennedy, Minto, ND; Kevin (Sara) Praska, East Grand Forks, MN; Monica (Scott) Kolar, Las Vegas, NV; Jimmy (Misty) Praska, Park River, ND; grandchildren: Jack and Bennett Kennedy, Lucy and Evelyn Praska, Joseph and Kate Kolar, Caprice, Poppi and River Praska; sister, Judy (Pete) Rudser, Woodbury, MN; sister-in-law, Edith Chesley, Anoka, MN; several nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pisek, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Pisek, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Pisek Quick Response, First Care Health Center or the St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
