LAKEWOOD, IL — Two Lakewood trustees are suing the village over claims they were denied access to information that they were entitled to as a form of retaliation, the Northwest Herald is reporting. Meanwhile, village president Phil Stephan is calling the claims "crazy."

The lawsuit, which was filed by trustees, Bryan Younge and Amy Odom, alleges the retaliation is in response to the trustees attempting to investigate the use of funds at the village-owned RedTail Golf Course and a "hostile" work environment within the village, according to the article. The complaint for injunctive and declaratory relief was filed in McHenry County on Monday.
