Port Aransas Police Department preparing for 2019 Spring Break

Spring Break is going to be a two-week long event with the majority of schools being off between March 9-16 and others off from March 16-24.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Port Aransas Police Department expects more massive crowds this Spring Break.

According to Port Aransas Police Chief Scott Burroughs, Spring Break is going to be a two-week long event with the majority of schools being off between March 9-16 and others off from March 16-24.

Most of the hotels in Port Aransas are back in business, and Burroughs said he expects people will stay out on the beaches later. He just asks that no one start trouble during this year's Spring Break.

"The best way to avoid contact with the police is to not draw attention to yourself," Burroughs said. "We don't go looking for problems. The problems tend to find us."

Burroughs said there would be an elevated police presence during Spring Break as well as other law enforcement including DPS and the Nueces County Sheriff's Department.
