VILLAGE OF GOTHAM (WKOW) — Four people are in custody following a drug bust in Richland County.

Following a two month investigation, the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force and Richland County Special Response Team executed a search warrant in the Village of Gotham on McNurlin Street Tuesday.

A search of the home lead to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, money, and drug paraphernalia, including smoking devices, plastic bags, syringes, a digital scale, cotton filters, and Naloxone, authorities say. The search marked the second time in six months the address had been searched on the suspicion of a drug trafficking.

William Giddings, 60, and Jade VonBehren, 26, were both arrested on several drug charges.

The morning after the search warrant was executed, a Richland County deputy patrolling the area noticed a light on inside the home. The deputy also noticed a car with an open trunk in the driveway. The home was not supposed to be occupied.

Deputies discovered someone had forced their way into the home. They also noticed several items had been moved inside the home and other items were missing.

As Deputies investigated further, they found two people behind the home hiding by a yard shed. Steven Baker , 32, and Nichole Weiland, 29, both of Boaz, were arrested on several charges, including burglary.
