MALONE, N.Y. (WWNY) - Two St. Lawrence County residents were killed in a crash on Route 37 in the Town of Malone, state police said Saturday.

The crash, which occurred Friday afternoon, claimed the lives of Charles V. Yaddow, 49, of Brasher and a passenger in his vehicle, Kimberly S. Delles, 42, also of Brasher.

Police said in a statement that Lisa L. Rupert, 42, of Massena, was headed east, and Yaddow was headed west, when Rupert’s vehicle hit Yaddow’s.

A third vehicle, also headed west, struck Rupert’s vehicle.

A one year old child in the Yaddow vehicle was not injured. Rupert was taken to a Vermont hospital for treatment of her injuries. State police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The Johnson Newspapers reported the road was closed for six hours because of the crash, and that this was at least the fourth fatal crash in the area in the last three years.
