In an interview with Pitchfork posted on Tuesday, the Vision of Love singer explains her iconic shade with even more shade!
When asked about her meme-able quip, MiMi said:
“I really was trying to say something nice or say nothing at all. I really was.”
In 2015, Mariah told The Cut that her epic line was completely blown out of proportion:
“Well, there was a very interesting shirt that a fan made with a quote that I said years ago that, when I said it, I really wasn’t trying to be funny. I was just being honest and everybody’s kind of blowing it out of proportion but this guy had a shirt on and it was a picture of me that he made and the quote was underneath it — and I’m going to leave you hanging as to what it was.”
A year later, in March 2016, J.Lo FINALLY addressed the drama by telling Wendy Williams:
“She does say that. She’s forgetful I guess! We’ve met many times. I don’t know… I don’t know her that well.”
However, days later, Nick Cannon‘s ex kept the feud alive when she told TMZ outside the Beverly Hilton Hotel:
“I still don’t know her.”
Nobody dishes out shade like Mariah!
