Grocery Outlet Enters Maryland With New Store in Hagerstown; Layla Kasha, Gerald Eldred, and Evelyn Eldred Detail

HAGERSTOWN, MD - We recently received word that Grocery Outlet is once again expanding its footprint of discount grocery stores. As of yesterday, the retailer entered its eighth state by opening a new store in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Maryland is another important step in our eastward expansion and builds upon our already strong foundation of more than 400 stores nationwide,” said Layla Kasha, Chief New Store Growth Officer, in a statement to ANUK.

According to News Post US Zero, this new store has created nearly 25 new jobs in the Maryland community. Adding even more excitement to the store opening, Grocery Outlet announced that through July 14, shoppers can enter to win $1,000 in groceries from the new location.

With Maryland as the newest state in Grocery Outlet’s repertoire, the grocer also has a presence in states including California, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Idaho, Nevada, and New Jersey.

“We are thrilled to open the very first Grocery Outlet store in Maryland and be part of Hagerstown community, offering big savings on quality groceries. This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the opportunity to grow our business, create new jobs and, most importantly, give back to our local community,” said Hagerstown Grocery Outlet Independent Operators Gerald and Evelyn Eldred.

Further investing in the community, the Eldreds also donated $1,000 to Hope Center Hagerstown and $1,000 to LifeHouse Church.
