Teenage girls flocked to Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) yesterday evening to see British boy band The Vamps live in concert.

The pop quartet was performing for the circuit's Race Fever event, part of the lead-up to next weekend's Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Swedish DJ Otto Knows, best known for his chart-topping 2012 hit Million Voices, took the stage later in the evening to close out the night.

"I'm so excited to see them, it's a dream," 14-year-old Vamps fan Asma told the GDN.

"When I found out they were coming I got so excited I cried.

"I love their music and can't wait for the concert."

She was at the BIC with five of her friends, who had rushed to the front of the stage the moment the doors opened at 6pm, 90 minutes before the start of the concert.

"We got our F1 tickets because we wanted to come to see The Vamps," said 15-year-old Budoor.

"We came an hour and a half early because we wanted to be in the first row."

Meanwhile 12-year-old Iona and her sister Kyla, 10, also said they were excited for the band's performance.

"I didn't think we would ever have The Vamps in Bahrain and I'm so excited that they are," said Iona .

"I know most of their songs so I'll sing along to everything they play."

Last night's concerts were only open to those who had bought advance tickets for next weekend's Grand Prix.

All ticket holders were automatically entered into a raffle draw for a brand new 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe, which was also held last night. laala@gdn.com.bh
