Avril Lavigne To Play At Toyota Oakdale Theatre On Oct. 5

WALLINGFORD, CT — Pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne is stopping in Wallingford for a performance this fall. Tickets are now on sale to see the singer at Toyota Oakdale Theatre as part of her "Head Above Water" tour on Oct. 5.

At just age 15, Avril Lavigne made her performance debut singing alongside fellow Canadian Shania Twain. Her first studio album, "Let Go," debuted several years later in 2002. It was an immediate success, as fans were immediately entranced by her skate-punk persona. The singer is considered to have paved the way for females in the pop-punk arena.

Since that debut in 2002, Avril Lavigne has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. The singer is among the bestselling Canadian female artists of all time — ranking behind only Celine Dion and Shania Twain. Lavigne first saw mainstream success with her single, "Complicated," which hit number one in several countries across the globe. Her follow-up studio album,"Under my Skin," was the singer's first record to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S.

This skater girl has been on the rise ever since. Avril Lavigne's third studio album, "The Best Damn Thing," hit number one in several countries in 2007. That was thanks in part to the EP's mega-hit single, "Girlfriend." Her next two albums,"Goodbye Lullaby" and "Avril Lavigne," were gold-certified in the U.S. and Canada in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

Earlier this year, the singer debuted her sixth studio album — her first in six years. Fans have been patiently awaiting her follow up, and "Head Above Water" came out in February 2019. Avril Lavigne's tour of the same name kicks off this fall, traveling from Oakland, CA, on Sept 17. to 12 other cities across the U.S. and Canada. The tour is scheduled to wrap in Philadelphia on Oct. 11.

Fans won't want to miss the show in Wallingford this October. Concert goers are sure to hear Lavigne's classic hits along with singles from the new record like "Head Above Water," "Dumb Blonde" and "Tell Me It's Over."
