Little Compton Man Wins $1 Million From Mass. Lottery Ticket

LITTLE COMPTON, RI — A Little Compton man is $1 million richer after stopping to buy a lottery ticket in Fall River. Charles Appleton is the 52nd person to win the grand prize in "The Fastest Road To $1 Million" game by the Massachusetts Lottery.

Appleton took the one-time cash option bringing home $650,000. He told lottery officials that he bought the ticket after stopping for gas at a 7-Eleven in Fall River. The store, located at 1019 William Canning Blvd., will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The $30 instant win game had 70 other opportunities to take home a $1 million check.
