Aluminium Bahrain BSCC : Alba hosts delegation from Youth City

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the leading companies in Bahrain, hosted a delegation comprising around 50 young Bahrainis from the Youth City who visited the Company as part of their summer programme for 2016.

Youth City 2030 is being held under the patronage of His Majesty's Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, and is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with Tamkeen.

Alba's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Khalid A. Latif and Acting Director of Administration Waleed Tamimi welcomed the Youth City delegation, which was given a tour of the smelter as well as briefed about Alba's operations, safety, health and environment policies and training and development programmes.

Khalid A. Latif recounted his journey since joining Alba to being promoted as the CMO of the Company, and said:

'Alba takes great pride in its Bahraini roots and employees. Our world-class training and development programmes provide our national employees with opportunities to learn skills and develop their potential, thus enabling them to take up higher management and leadership positions.'

Youth City - an initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and is linked to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 - aims to create a suitable environment for the Bahraini youth to develop their potential in various fields. During this event, an actual 'city' is built at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre where they can participate in various skill or knowledge-based centres such as photography, digital media, robotics, computer skills, etc.
