WLWT News 5 TODAY Weekend Meteorologist

I am so happy to be home!

I’m a Tristate native, born and raised in northern Kentucky. I grew up in southern Campbell County and went to Bishop Brossart High School in Alexandria, and Thomas More College, in Crestview Hills. I have a Student Initiated degree from Thomas More with a focus in Science. I also took meteorology graduate courses from the USDA which allowed me to obtain my AMS Seal of Approval.

I have a passion for my work as a meteorologist. I know it is a great responsibility to provide accurate forecasts. I think working as a television meteorologist is a great fit for my career, I love the science involved in this job, but I also greatly enjoy the opportunity to share the forecast with viewers.

I began my career as the morning meteorologist at 6News in Lawrence, KS. Two years later I was promoted to chief meteorologist. I spent over 4 years in Kansas, before accepting a job in Dallas, TX at WFAA. While in Dallas, I also forecasted for the entire state of Texas on Texas Cable News. After several great years working in the Plains I was thrilled to return to the Bluegrass in 2010, as the chief meteorologist at WTVQ in Lexington, KY.

Coming home to WLWT has been a dream come true, after being gone from home for nearly 9 years. I met my husband, Jason, while in Kansas and we had our first child, Weston, while living in Lexington. I am thrilled that we’ll be able to raise Weston near family, with the help and support of the community where I grew up.

At this point in life, work and my family keep me quite busy, but when possible, I still love to travel and explore. I also enjoy the outdoors, even if it’s just walking our dog, Mr. Wiggins, around the neighborhood.
