Sheriff’s office investigating another bridge arson

POINSETT COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - Sheriff’s investigators want to know who set fire to a county bridge, destroying it.

According to a Facebook post, the road department said a fire destroyed the bridge on Desmond Lake Road.

It is the same bridge that was damaged last August.

Poinsett County Sheriff Kevin Molder said the Lepanto Fire Department responded to the fire around 6 a.m. Monday. Despite their best efforts, the bridge was destroyed.

Molder said the fire was intentionally set, and detectives are investigating.
