Brookline Coronavirus Cases Still Under 375

BROOKLINE, MA — Since the onset of the coronavirus in Massachusetts, the town has confirmed that there have been 373 people who have tested positive for the virus as of June 9. Of those, 44 people have died, according to state and local data.

Although the numbers of new daily cases have dropped dramatically, town and state health officials say it's presumed that there are untold numbers of undiagnosed cases in all communities, including Brookline. And as such, officials are still advising residents practice social distancing, wash your hands often, clean commonly touched areas often with disinfectant as the state begins to open up, and restaurants start to offer outdoor dining.

Brookline's rate of cases is 579.33 per 100,000 people. By comparison, Newton has 767 and a rate of 836.17.
